Therapy Approach
In our work together, I draw from a diverse array of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to support your unique journey toward healing and personal growth. Each approach is thoughtfully integrated to meet your individual needs, fostering a safe and collaborative space for exploration. These are some examples of the modalities commonly used in the services provided.
For many clients, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a structured approach that empowers you to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, has been quite effective as a treatment model. By fostering healthier thinking, CBT aims to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress, enabling you to make lasting changes in your emotional and behavioral responses.
By incorporating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we can focus on enhancing emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies, helping you manage intense emotions and improve relationships, particularly in the context of emotional dysregulation and interpersonal conflicts.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages embracing thoughts and feelings rather than avoiding them. By focusing on your core values and committing to actions aligned with those values, ACT promotes psychological flexibility, helping you navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and purpose.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy draws from meditation practices to cultivate present-moment awareness. Techniques such as deep breathing and body scans help reduce stress, enhance emotional regulation, and foster a deeper connection between mind and body.
Through Narrative Therapy, we explore the stories you tell about yourself and your experiences. By externalizing problems and identifying alternative narratives, this approach empowers you to reshape your identity and find new meanings, fostering healing and personal growth.
In our sessions, we may also incorporate Expressive Therapies, which utilizes creative modalities to process when sometimes traditional talk therapy is not what is helpful at that moment. These approaches provide alternative avenues for self-expression and emotional processing, particularly beneficial for those who find it challenging to articulate their feelings verbally.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle, evidence-based therapy that helps you understand and heal the different “parts” of yourself—like the inner critic, the protector, or the wounded child. By connecting with your core Self, IFS helps these parts work together instead of in conflict, creating more balance, clarity, and emotional healing.
Each of these techniques are not applied in isolation but thoughtfully integrated to create a therapeutic experience that is as unique as you are. Together, we will explore and build upon your strengths, fostering a path toward healing, self-discovery, and lasting change.
